Course Summary

The BA Education is a one year top-up Level 6 course, for those students who have already achieved a Foundation Degree or a HND in a relevant subject. This programme will be taught from our WISE Campus, Bristol. This degree aims to provide students with a robust knowledge of the theories and practices in educational contexts. Contemporary curriculum design will be taught alongside pedagogical theory and issues of alternative education to ensure students have a solid foundation of the challenges faced in education. The dissertation will provide an opportunity for students to develop their own research interests and develop their understanding of the importance of the role of research in education to action change. Course delivery will be a mixture of classroom based session, supported by distance learning within the workplace. Students will be taught in small class groups, in a supportive environment. Modules are led by lecturers who all have relevant industry experience. Modules include:- EL6001 Contemporary Curriculum Design 30 CATS EL6002 Psychology in Education 30 CATS EL6003 Health for Life 30 CATS EL6004 Dissertation On successful completion those students wishing to pursue a career in teaching, will be able to progress onto a PGCE 1 year programme.
