Course Summary

The aim of the Applied Sport Conditioning and Exercise degree is to support students wishing to follow a career within a sport and exercise environment. The programme provides insight, understanding and the necessary skills that are required to develop a range of ability in individuals, athletes and teams, thereby examining sport and exercise from both performance and participative perspectives. The core focus of this degree is to support students in developing personal and interpersonal skills, together with current discipline knowledge and understanding, gaining industry experience and applied practice. The programme aims to develop students wishing to further their understanding of conditioning, exercise and fitness, including areas such as anatomy; physiology; nutrition; training principles and application; physical literacy; exercise and injury rehabilitation. There are opportunities to engage with community and social enterprise activities, allowing students to gain experience and develop vocational skills. SGS has an excellent reputation for its sporting facilities and students study in a supportive and friendly environment.
