*Our Zoology with Marine Biology with Foundation Year is an excellent route into science for those either from a non-scientific background or seeking to develop their career in a new direction; it is also ideal if you're returning to education or do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry to an Honours degree. * This course will provide you with a strong foundation in science, allowing you to progress onto the Bachelor’s degree in Zoology with Marine Biology, within the School of Science, Engineering and Environment at Salford. If you want to develop the practical skills required to have a positive impact on our natural environment, then this course is ideal for you as it combines key zoological principles with specialist knowledge of the marine environment. On the full honours degree you will gain a systematic understanding of the key aspects of biodiversity and conservation, learning how they apply to the marine environment. Practical training is particularly relevant and will be delivered during two residential field trips in coastal locations. The first one will be carried out in Scotland, at the renowned FSC Millport Field Station. The second trip will be organised at the beginning of the final year, in Kavala, Greece, in collaboration with the national Fisheries Research Institute.
