Wildlife and Practical Conservation with a Foundation Year
Course Summary
Our BSc in Wildlife and Practical Conservation with Foundation Year will provide you with a strong background in Wildlife, allowing you to progress onto the Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Practical Conservation, within the School of Environment and Life Sciences.
The Foundation Year is ideal if you want to develop your career along an environmental pathway but have a non-scientific background, or you don’t meet the entry requirements for direct entry to an Honours degree. This course may also be attractive if you are returning to education or if you wish to change career direction.
The full honours degree focuses on general conservation, the physical environment and landscape, as well as offering opportunities for you to study the ecology and behaviour of animals in the wild.
It is designed to provide you with a broad understanding of wildlife, wildlife ecology and environmental problems threatening species, from both theoretical and practical points of view. You will cover both physical and biological components of the environment as well as studying specialist modules in wildlife and environmental areas.
Features
• The full honours degree is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology
• A variety of free field trip opportunities are on offer [small administration fee may apply] to zoos, animal parks, wetlands, as well as a chance to travel to the Amazon Rainforest
• You will have the opportunity to take work placements in the UK, Europe and worldwide
• Acquire the practical skills used in wildlife conservation and zoos
