The course blends the core competences you need to thrive in an evolving environment, with awareness of risk and a flair in software specification, design and implementation. You’ll build programming skills and explore design patterns. You’ll develop awareness of data structures, algorithms and artificial intelligence. You'll address professionalism, ethics and quality management. On the professional experience pathway, you'll spend a year in industry between your second and third year. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your CV, apply your academic knowledge, build workplace skills in a real-world environment, and to reflect on your own personal development and career choices. On successful completion of an industrial placement year, which you'll arrange with our support, you will add 'with Professional Experience' to your degree title. There will also be opportunities to enjoy extra-curricular activities through our computing society, or take part in HackManchester.
