**Successful architectural design is the sweet spot within science, creativity and technology. As virtual technologies push design boundaries in our built environment, a BSc (Hons) Architectural Engineering degree with Salford can lead to an exciting career shaping sustainable and spectacular buildings.**
Architectural engineers are at the heart of every successful building project team. With their ability to integrate building systems in complex design environments, they are highly-sought by architectural, planning consultancies, and developers. If you’re fascinated by the science and technology behind buildings, our three-year architectural engineering course provides robust design, engineering and construction knowledge, so you can build an exceptional skill set.
Led by international experts, Salford is a QS world-ranked centre for architecture studies. Learning takes place in our Peel Park campus, minutes from buzzing central Manchester. You’ll study architectural theory and practice alongside other architecture students, delivered in a collaborative studio environment by leading international teachers and experts.
By combining architecture and engineering disciplines, you’ll build a comprehensive view of the building design process from day one. You’ll develop both design awareness and a solid understanding of the systems integral to sustainable design. You’ll learn structural principles alongside exploring architecture theory. You’ll balance the tools and technologies for developing engineering solutions with the creative processes for generating new ideas.
Reflecting real-world practice, you’ll complete multidisciplinary projects and innovative problem-solving activities alongside other built environment students. Through our strong connections with local architectural practices and engineering firms, you’ll receive external critiques and guest lectures. With a focus on your future, you’ll share your ideas at our annual architecture show and build your network at our exclusive built environment careers fair.
