The Art History major will introduce you to visual art in all its forms – from portraits to cityscapes, photography, street art, prints, fashion, architecture and performance. Examining work from across the world, you’ll begin to understand how material culture can inform, and even contradict, global history. You’ll explore how feminism, philosophy, race and religion intersect with art, and examine how art history relates to other fields like business and international relations. To fully understand the creative process, you’ll also learn to draw – with classes held in galleries across London. Specialise in Art History and pair it with a mix of elective modules each year – helping to develop your specialist knowledge as well as your cross-disciplinary thinking. You’ll also be able to minor in a second subject, becoming an expert in multiple interlocking areas – connecting themes and topics across disciplines. January start date – apply on our website.
