The foundation year offers students opportunities to develop a wide range of skills and prepares you for the demands of degree level study while working on a broad range of modules. This pathway with integrated foundation develops the next generation of scriptwriter-producers for the screen - individuals equipped to work as key creatives at the very top of the film related creative industries. The twin disciplines of screenwriting and producing are at the heart of the film and television industries and the showrunner is the highest achievement that a creative writer-producer can achieve. The programme is devised and taught by industry professionals to train and educate you in writing industry standard screenplays, from short films to TV pilots to a feature script in the third year. You will also produce your own films, graduating not only with a portfolio of creative writing, but of produced work and the skills to budget, plan, shoot and distribute your own films in a constantly changing media landscape.
