This course will prepare students for employment in the performance and leisure horse industry in fields of equine training, equine behaviour management and behaviour rehabilitation. The scientific and behavioural theory underlying training techniques will be evaluated and combined with a development and understanding of factors which affect normal equine behaviour both on the ground and whilst being ridden. Students will also develop the necessary skills to assess a horse and implement a training plan to modify its behaviour. An introduction to the ten elements taught by the Society for Equine Behaviour Consultants (SEBC) is embedded within the programme.
