Prepare for a fast-paced career in financial technology – and broaden your skills and experience by studying overseas – with our BSc Finance (FinTech) with Study Year Abroad degree. FinTech is a rapidly expanding sector within the financial industry. You’ll study the core concepts and practises of financial technology, and learn how technological advances have necessitated change throughout the industry. This four-year course develops the knowledge and skills to meet these changes head-on, as you acquire a deep understanding of finance and financial services. You’ll also gain expertise in programming and financial applications, and learn how to apply your technological skills to real-world problems. You’ll enrich this learning and broaden your life experience with an integrated Study Year Abroad. Experts from from Henley Business School will introduce you to the: - fundamental principles of accounting, finance and economics - quantitative techniques of finance - role of finance in business and society - ethics required to work in the finance industry. As your studies progress, you’ll explore the key concepts of financial technology, including: - the management of information systems - programming for finance - digital business - cryptocurrencies. You’ll learn through a combination of lectures, seminars, practical workshops, and self-guided study. This will provide the opportunity to discuss subject materials in an in-depth way with your lecturers and fellow students. The University of Reading is a CFA partner university.
