Course Summary

In this fast-moving arena, students will learn how to get their brand’s voice heard above all the rest. With strong industry links and the latest facilities, students will explore all aspects of fashion promotion and learn to tell a brand’s unique stories through different mediums to a range of audiences. Delivered through a combination of practice and theory-based learning, you will develop your own unique voice across a number of digital platforms including film, magazines and social media. The course will equip you with everything you need to effectively communicate and market brands within the fashion industry. This course will equip students with the knowledge needed to build, promote and maintain dynamic fashion brands. Students will learn the skills and techniques needed to effectively communicate and market fashion in this dynamic and fast-moving sector. The course’s flexible design will enable students to tailor their studies to their individual interests. It will allow them to explore creative areas including fashion photography and film, digital communication, fashion styling, social media, website design, journalism and brand communication. Competitions and live briefs provide students with real work scenarios to develop and integrate their existing skills and knowledge, while building key industry contacts.

Course Details - Modules

Year 1: Students will build knowledge and awareness of brand principles and the basics of how to bring together a fashion campaign. Alongside this, they will learn key skills in photography, film, graphics, illustration and social media. We encourage students to start thinking about their contextual studies research throughout this year. Year 2: Students will gain a greater understanding of multi-platform campaign building. At the same time, they will develop skills in building websites and writing market reports. Our students go live at this stage, taking on a three-month industry internship. Year 3: Students will be assessed on four components in their final year and we ask that they create a final major project from inception to realisation. They will also work on a range of national and international competitions to showcase their skills and build a well-rounded professional portfolio. We ask that they show their contextual studies research in a long form dissertation.
