Create engaging shorts, features, commercials and documentaries on this highly regarded course. Students will graduate with a deep understanding of the entire production journey. With access to state-of-the-art equipment, this course also has a dedicated studio space for teaching and shooting film projects. From the word go, students find themselves working on professional shoots and are taught about both the established techniques and emerging technologies shaping the future of film production. This course is the study of contemporary film making. It is taught through a mix of practice and theory-based learning that include lectures, workshops, seminars and self-directed study. The course is led by production and broadcast experts and is divided into two distinct pathways: production and operations. The course is divided into two key strands: production and operations. The production part of the course is designed for those who want to make innovative television programming using a variety of distribution platforms, including social media. The operations strand of the course will teach students about varied production techniques and digital operations, including the use of media asset management systems. Course Details - Modules

Level 4 uses a focus on industry, film language, and storytelling to build a set of key vocational, aesthetic, technical, and organisational skills. In the first term, you will produce four short films. Level 5 is focused on developing a tailored, individualised comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the advanced digital skills, and specialisms required within digital film production, alongside organisational and managerial skills essential to the management and organisation of productions. Exposure to ‘the new’ defines this level. Level 6 is designed to encourage interdisciplinary working, whilst individualizing learning and facilitating the refining of high-level specialisms through practice. You will produce a Dissertation derived from initial proposals at Level 5. You will also undertake a research project into new advances within your discipline, and will produce a major production portfolio that demands individual responsibility for a principal role, and collaborative contribution in secondary roles.

Students will be continually assessed through the completion of practical and written work. These will include the likes of essays, analysis, individual and group presentations, critical self- and peer evaluation, practical and technical tests, and the completion of individual and team projects.
