Law plays a key role in all aspects of our lives. Whether at work or play, law governs our behaviour and gives shape to government, business and personal relationships. The LLB (Hons) Law is designed to provide you with the legal knowledge and the professional skills which are essential for a career in law, as well as for a range of other rewarding careers in other professional sectors. Alongside the core legal topics required by the Law Society and the Bar Council for a qualifying law degree, you will have the opportunity to explore a range of specialist subjects, including aviation law, medical law, company law, and asylum and immigration law. You will also be able to take part in a range of extracurricular activities aimed at enhancing your employability and career prospects. KEY FEATURES • Qualifying law degree (QLD) accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Bar Standards Board (BSB) • Opportunity to gain an additional National Association of Licensed Paralegals (NALP) qualification • Opportunity to take part in mooting competitions • Gain practical legal experience by volunteering in our Law Clinic and Refugee Legal Assistance Project CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Upon successful completion of the degree, you will have the qualifications necessary to be able to progress to the professional stage of legal training on either the Legal Practice Course (LPC) to become a solicitor, or the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC), if you aim to be a barrister. Our LLB is also accredited with the National Association of Licenced Paralegals (NALP) and offers you the opportunity to obtain a Higher Diploma in Paralegal Practice and become a NALP Graduate Member upon graduation. In addition to these traditional careers in the legal sector, a law degree is an excellent starting point for a whole range of other professional careers, including in management, politics, human resources, local authorities, the police, the civil service and the charity sector.
