Course Summary

The Psychology degree programmes are designed to enable graduates to become competent and dynamic employees in a range of relevant professions. Equally important, students are encouraged to develop a critical understanding of psychology and its application to issues and problems in society. Students who take psychology as a major programme with Criminology as a minor subject, will study 80 credits in psychology and 40 credits in criminology at each stage. The programme lasts three years, or four years if a work placement year is taken in stage 3. BSc Psychology with Criminology is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and provides a recognised foundation for graduates to go on to further training the psychological professions. The course also provides a solid basis in knowledge and skills for employment in a range of other cognate professional areas.
