Course Summary

Take centre stage with a degree in Drama at Plymouth, where you’ll work with experts from the University, the renowned Theatre Royal Plymouth and with wider industry. Perform in the University’s award-winning theatre, also a regular venue of international touring companies. Plymouth itself will become your stage as you put together your own productions across the city. Immerse yourself in how things work both on and off stage. Learn by doing, taking on the challenge of staging a full length play – from bidding for funding to the final performance. See the impact performance can have on changing perceptions and addressing pressing social issues. At Plymouth, your degree really is what you make it. From your second year, you can choose to add in modules from across any of the School of Society & Culture’s 17 disciplines. This means you can add anything from Creative Writing to History to better inspire your own productions and increase your understanding of the contexts that influence performance. Develop your acting, writing and directing skills with trained performers, with a focus on physical performance, confident use of your voice, collaboration and critical awareness. Benefit from our dedicated placements officer, who will help you gain critical work experience through well-established local links.
