This three-year Business Management degree, starts with a foundation year, specifically designed to introduce and develop essential skills for success in Higher Education, including critical thinking and research skills, and the knowledge and understanding of key facets of business, accounting and economics
The following two years of the course allow you to fast-track your studies, with specially designed concentrated periods of learning.
You’ll develop analytical and problem solving skills through focusing on the practical aspects of management including strategy, people management, ethics and corporate social responsibility, sustainability, decision making, and project and operations management. You can also opt to focus on a particular field and graduate with a specialist named degree.
Your final year project will enable you to work in partnership with companies on real business-related issues to enhance your career-readiness and gives you the opportunity to specialise in an area that really interests you.
You’ll get the chance to put theory into practice during consultancy projects and you can boost your employability with paid, real-world experience during an optional work placement.
The programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute; complete the course and you will be eligible for a CMI Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Course Details - Modules
In your foundation year, you’ll experience a supportive environment to assist in the transition to successful study in higher education. You will learn about academic writing, critical thinking skills and begin to develop your research skills, as well as develop your knowledge and understanding through an introduction to key aspects of business, accounting and economics. You’ll also have the opportunity to do independent research into an area of your studies that interests you, with a supervisor to guide and support you through the process. In year 1, Gain a solid understanding of management in a business and enterprise context, focusing on areas such as organisational behaviour, economics, accounting and entrepreneurship. Look into the ethical and sustainability issues of business, and complete a consultancy project. In the summer (from early June to the middle of July), you begin to learn and acquire the knowledge and skills required of a practising manager, thereby enhancing your future employability. Gain valuable on-the-job experience through an optional placement year after your first or final year. Supported by a dedicated team, you undertake a paid placement within a public or private sector organisation, or you may even decide to set up your own business. Your final year will allow you to enhance your employability and understanding of professional development and career planning, and hone your decision-making, project planning and research skills. The final year provides a lot of choice and the opportunity to study topics you are really interested in and/or perhaps want to specialise in. By choosing from a wide range of modules, you can tailor your degree and graduate with a specialist qualification. During the second summer, you increase your understanding of strategic management and complete a research or consultancy project in an area of your choice.
