Course Summary

The BSc Biomedical Science with Foundation year programme is designed for applicants who wish to study Human Biology or Biomedical Science but who are not currently appropriately qualified for entry to undergraduate programmes. The course equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to become a confident, critically self-aware, independent learner ready for the challenges of higher education and university life. You will be taught by University lecturers on campus. Modules develop an understanding of the science relating to a range of exciting topic areas and you can take advantage of academic support and guidance provided by a personal tutor. Meeting relevant entry requirements at the end of the foundation course enables you to apply for progression into year one of selected degrees running in the School of Biomedical Sciences.

Course Details - Modules

The foundation course is carefully designed to develop your confidence by providing you with a blend of subject specific knowledge as well as the academic and learning skills essential for success. You will take core modules that explore key aspects of human anatomy, physiology, infection and immunity, genetics, molecular and cellular biology, interdisciplinary practice and study and mathematical skills.
