Our world is divided into different societies, yet it is increasingly interconnected. Relationships between nations, companies, cultures and individuals extend across regions and the globe. In this course, you'll explore the political, economic and cultural issues that these complex interconnections create. You'll focus on international politics; diplomacy; cooperation; war and security; international development; interactions between different societies; and global environmental problems. You'll be able to choose a specialism from politics, history or the environment as one core area of concern to international studies. **Key features of the course** - Engage with the most pressing issues in the world today and address key questions about conflict, cooperation and international order - Explore the overall political make-up of the international system - Gain insight into development issues and the challenges faced by developing countries - Shape your studies to specialise in politics, history or the environment.

Course Details - Modules

This degree has three stages, each comprising 120 credits. You’ll begin Stage 1 with a choice of two introductory modules – one with a focus on social sciences or one with a focus on the environment. You’ll follow this with a module that examines the issues that face contemporary society. Next, in Stage 2, you’ll study a core module in international development followed by a module selected from a range of options. Finally, in Stage 3, you’ll take a core module in international relations and conclude your degree with further study, either building on topics already encountered or broadening your study into a new area.
