This accredited course explores the relationship between chemistry and biology to further your understanding of human disease and drug design. It focuses on core chemistry, with modules in physiology and pharmacology.

Course Details - Modules
In the first year, you will take introductory modules in chemistry, physiology and pharmacology, including practical training.
If you do not have A level mathematics (or equivalent) then you will take the Mathematical Toolkit module to prepare you for this aspect of the chemistry course.
In your second year you will cover topics in physical, inorganic and organic chemistry in more depth. You'll also study complimentary courses in spectroscopy, biological chemistry and pharmacology. This includes a case study on the development of a recent drug.
In year three you will study advanced modules in chemistry and drug discovery. You will apply the theoretical, computational and experimental techniques you have learned to an area of your choice with a final research project.
