This four-year course will feed your curiosity for both chemistry and physics. It is accredited by the Institute of Physics.
The fourth year includes masters-level modules and a major research project. You can choose the topic and area of your research project to suit your own personal interests and passion. Optional modules on topics such as green chemistry, nanoscale and lasers in chemistry allow you to tailor your degree to a specialist field.
You will develop your skills in practical and theoretical chemistry, data-analysis and problem-solving. Our graduates have gone on to work for leading companies such as Boots, Cancer Research UK, GlaxoSmithKline, the NHS and Unilever.
You will be taught by academic staff from the School of Chemistry and the School of Physics and Astronomy. You may recognise some of our staff from the popular Periodic Videos and Sixty Symbols YouTube channels. We have been rated Gold by the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017.
- Ranked 11th for Chemistry in the UK (Complete University Guide).
- Small-group tutorials to support your learning
- Put theory into practice in our modern labs and facilities
This course will prepare you for a range of careers in the interdisciplinary field of chemistry and physics.
Course Details - Modules
