Course Summary

On this accredited course, you will study all the key areas of organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. You will also gain experience in practical synthetic and analytical chemistry. Our modern labs and facilities enable you to put theory into practice. We have been rated Gold for teaching excellence (Teaching Excellence Framework 2017). You'll be taught by academic staff who will feed your curiosity for chemistry, with small group tutorials to support your learning. You may recognise some of our staff from the popular Periodic Videos YouTube channel. Our range of optional modules will allow you to tailor your degree to your own interests. We offer modules in drug design ad pharmaceutical sciences, as well as medicinal chemistry. What’s more, there is flexibility to transfer between most chemistry degrees during the first year. Green and sustainable chemistry is a major focus at the University of Nottingham. We offer optional modules in this topic, which will show you how we are using chemistry to tackle environmental challenges.  The School of Chemistry is also home to the award-winning Carbon Neutral Lab. - Accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry - 11th for chemistry in the UK (Complete University Guide 2021)
