The demand for nurses is ever increasing while the requirement for nurses with a postgraduate qualification is also growing. If you have undergraduate degree from a health, social care or health science related area and have the dedication and commitment to study and work full time, then course will enable you become a registered nurse in two years. You will study both in an academic setting and work in clinical practice environments enabling you to complete the necessary knowledge and skills to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a nurse.

Additional Fee Information

Tuition fees are reviewed annually. The fee above is for the 2021/22 academic year. Additional Costs; Travel from home to University - Your base may be in Aylesbury, Luton or Bedford depending on the offer you receive from the University. You will need to ensure you have funds to pay for parking, usually in public car parks. This could be up to £10 per day depending on where you choose to park. Travel to alternate academic sites - Variable depending on mode of transport and whether car sharing. This may include travel to Aylesbury, Luton or Bedford campuses. Travel to placements - You are required to attend a range of placements in hospitals or community settings. There will be travel on a daily basis and this should be planned for. This will be across a range of shifts and will involve you travelling at a range of times as shifts cover the 24 hour period. This will also require you to attend a range of shifts including early shifts at 7:00 a.m., across the week and throughout the course. Parking costs at NHS sites - This is variable across practice partners. Parking permits purchased by students for some Trusts (costs vary). Appropriate shoes for clinical placement (£20 - £60) Stethoscope/Pinard (£5 - £100) Fob watch (£5 - £20) Smart clothes for community placement (£50 - £100) Stationery - files, paper & pens (£20) Costs of printing dissertation hard copy (£20 - £60) Printer ink/poster (£25) USB sticks (£10 - £40) Books (£50 - £200) Laptop Computer (optional) Union Fees - You are advised to join a union such as the Royal College of Midwifery.
