**This Higher National Certificate in Healthcare Practice for England is designed to provide you with a broad range of knowledge, understanding and skills required to work in a health and/or social care environment. Such roles include healthcare support and assistant roles in a range of settings, planning and assessment roles as well as roles in public health and health promotion. You will gain a valuable insight into the diversity of roles within the healthcare sector and the importance of collaboration and excellent communication at all levels. This course is suitable for those people currently employed in relevant sectors and seeking higher-level qualifications to further develop their career.**
**About the course**
You'll be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the basic concepts, values and principles of healthcare practice, and the skills necessary to perform effectively in a variety of settings within the health and social care sector.
The course provides the opportunity to develop transferable skills such as effective team working, being adaptable and flexible, whilst developing problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrating Professional Principles and Values in Health and Social Care Practice
• Supporting the Individual Journey through Integrated Health and Social Care
• Fundamentals of Evidence-based Practice
• Effective Reporting and Record-keeping in Health and Social Care Services
• Health Education in Action
• Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Ill-Health
As part of the course you must complete 225 hours of workplace placement or experience in a health and/or social care setting.
**Assessment:**
Units are assessed via a range of internally set and assessed assignments including reports, presentations, portfolios using a range of research, investigation, problem solving, and portfolio based methods.
