Our British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited degree explores the human being, the workings of the brain, and the processes and mechanisms of human thinking, feeling and behaviour. This course will enable you to explore some of the most challenging questions in modern society: Why do we behave in the ways we do? What shapes our identity and why? This course also offers the opportunity to complete a one year work placement.
Course Details - Modules
This course covers all the core areas of Psychology stipulated by the BPS curriculum. This accounts for two-thirds of the course and includes the workings of the brain, the processes and mechanisms of human thinking, feeling and behaviour and how psychologists, psychological research and therapy can make a tangible and positive difference to society and people’s lives. The remaining third considers important theories and issues in Sociology, the structure of social life and their implications for both individuals and groups. The core modules on this course may include: Introduction to Psychology, Thinking Sociologically, Cognitive and Biological Psychology, Social and Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Constructing Modern Societies, Psychology Research Project and Professional Practice in Psychology.
