This innovative course allows you to explore a variety of international topics and events including the relationships between states, people, social movements, and a range of cultural and religious communities. It focuses on diplomatic relations like war, peace, and cooperation, but it also explores phenomena like international security, the role of the media, and how protest and resistance have impacted established power. You may have the opportunity to undertake a work placement as part of your course.

Course Details - Modules

This course offers you flexibility, choice and specialisation. The core modules on this course may include: Foundations and Challenges to International Relations, International Relations and Global History, Who's Who in International Relations, Media, Power and Politics and Political Ideologies in Conflict. In Year Two core modules may include: Politics and International Relations: Theory and Methods and Understanding Foreign Policy. In the third year of the course you may study modules such as: International Relations in the Post-Cold War, and undertake a dissertation. In Year Two and Three you will also be able to choose to study optional modules from a range offered by the Department; this may include the opportunity to learn a foreign language.
