Course Summary

Explore the life of plants on this highly vocational and practical course. Based on understanding and interpreting the landscape around us, the course explores horticultural production and growing, along with the principles of plant and soil science. Horticulture is a diverse subject area that covers plant and soil science; commercial crop production; ornamental flower and plant growing; landscape and garden design; and green-space management. You'll have the option to specialise in your final year with our Garden Design pathway. Successful completion of the FdSc Horticulture course to a satisfactory level allows progression on to the BSc (Hons) Horticulture (final-year top-up) course. This means you can gain a full BSc degree in three years.
