Themes will include the UK's decision to leave the European Union to whether we will receive a pension when we reach retirement age. HISTORY will introduce you to diverse peoples, nations and ideas from medieval and early modern right through to contemporary history within Britain and across to the Americas, Asia and the Far East.
POLITICS is designed for students who want to gain a comprehensive understanding of the issues which are dominating our lives such as the European Union and the wars in the Middle East. This course will introduce you to Political Systems which will outline political parties and interest groups. It will also introduce you to the basic ideas, movements and language in which politics is enacted. The course is devised to ensure that you gain valuable transferable skills that you can utilise for years to come. HISTORY at NTU offers exciting opportunities to discover and understand the past through a range of skills and approaches. This course offers a diverse curriculum, covering periods from AD 700 to the present day. The course offers a range of ways to make sense of the past and how it has impacted societies in the present day. The academic team at NTU teaches specialist modules informed by their own research specialisms, including; modern European history, the Crusades and Real Life Work Project. Politics has been combined with history to create an exciting, dynamic and relevant degree. This course will help enhance your interpersonal skills so that you're ready for the transition from university into the world of work. This course aims to provide you with vital skills such as; focus, passion and the ability to think critically about the world and social issues. You'll develop excellent project management skills and be able to manage your time efficiently. Our recent graduates have pursued a variety of exciting roles including; policy adviser, recruitment consultant, conservation assistant, sales manager, education officer and government officer.
