Course Summary

It's often said that an organisation's most important assets are its people, and so understanding how to manage people is fundamental to how any successful organisation operates. This course enables you to focus on management processes with a strong emphasis on issues relating to the people dimensions of business and employment. You’ll develop a broad understanding of all areas in business such as finance, economics and marketing, before specialising in human resources. You’ll explore concepts such as researching people and organisations, human resource development, international business communication and strategic human resource management. This course is also approved by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the recognised professional body for human resources. Upon graduation you will gain Associate Membership of the CIPD. Our Business Management Joint Honours courses are all built on a common first year of study, which means you have the option to transfer to a different Joint Honours course after the first year. During your second year you will have a variety of unique opportunities to get involved in such as studying abroad, enterprise project or an internship. You'll also have the opportunity to take part in business challenges, volunteer opportunities and attend guest lectures from business leaders throughout your degree. Our BA (Hons) Business Management Joint Honours courses have Dual Award status with the Chartered Management Institute. Nottingham Business School at NTU is accredited by EQUIS and AACSB accredited, which are internationally recognised hallmarks of excellence and quality for business education. We are one of only six UK business schools recognised as a PRME Champion, and held up as an exemplar by the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME). NBS is also recognised by the Small Business Charter, as we play an effective role in supporting small businesses, local economies and student entrepreneurship.
