BA (Hons) Photography explores the changing world of commercial photography. Projects will provide opportunities to work on location and in studios and to confidently produce images using industry standard cameras, lenses, lighting equipment and editing software in the digital darkrooms. This course includes a Year 0, which promotes developing practical, technical and creative skills and confidence for the following three years. You will develop an understanding of visual communication and explore the evolution of digital technologies, copyright law and the needs and expectations of markets, clients and the wider audience. Diverse briefs include projects set by distinguished industry guests, such as Visiting Professor and music photographer Andy Earl (Madonna, Johnny Cash), Tim Flach (Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Gold) and Lydia Goldblatt (Magenta Flash Forward Award). You will explore a range of photographic career opportunities and graduate with a portfolio of work which will stand out from the crowd.
