BA (Hons) Illustration reflects the powerful shift in the creative industries towards collaboration, networking and shared entrepreneurial practices. You will learn about wider contexts and purposes of contemporary illustration and its connection to art, design and the written word, with specific emphasis on narrative, documentary, design and self-authored illustration. With the support of a team of specialist technicians you will have access to printmaking workshops, the drawing studio, digital print and laser cutting and 3D modelling workshops. You will explore briefs with your own unique style through activities with visiting practitioners such as Luke Best (Peepshow), Hugh Frost (Landfill Editions) and James Cartwright (It’s Nice That). You will conclude your final year with a degree show, which has been described by Creative Review editor Patrick Burgoyne as: “one of the strongest I’ve seen”, and an opportunity to exhibit at D&AD New Blood.
