Course Summary

Management and leadership are not just concepts, models and theories discussed in a classroom, but are concerned with personal growth, individual understanding and self-exploration. BA Management and Leadership will enable aspiring business professionals to become responsible future leaders by exploring modern leadership and management from theoretical and applied perspectives, with a particular emphasis on developing practical skills for managing and leading. You will consider the essentials of leadership and management in negotiating the mutually dependent relationship between individual and organisational performance, identifying these aspects as critical business success factors. This is explored through live, ‘real world’ applied projects designed to enable you to test theory in practice. You will also focus on your personal and career development, with opportunities to reflect upon, and apply, employability skills in a supportive and caring environment. We recognise that it can sometimes be difficult to choose between different kinds of degree programmes. This programme is distinctive because the guiding philosophy is to combine and connect theoretical, practical, applied and self-developmental aspects of leadership and management. This lies at heart of this exciting degree programme. **By studying at the University of Northampton, you can be sure that:** - You will experience student life at the University’s £330 million Waterside Campus.
