Course Summary

The foundation year offers an innovative new pathway into your degree. It is the first part of a four-year degree programme. It provides an alternative route for those unable to meet the traditional entry requirements for a three-year degree. It will prepare you for your degree studies in a supportive and stimulating learning environment. You will begin with an exploration of education and society, before moving onto consider including identity, being human and the digital world. Over the course of the year, you will build the skills and experience to prepare you for your chosen degree. You apply via UCAS for the Business (with Foundation Year) course and after successfully completing the first year you will progress onto the final three years of the degree. The BA Hons in Business Management programme seeks to help you develop competencies and skills essential for a range of careers in the private, public, or third/voluntary sector. It offers you opportunities to develop your skills in presentation, data analysis, report writing, and the use of business software. During your studies, you will be able to meet business practitioners through guest lectures and other events such as recruitment fairs. You will have access to management, enterprise and leaderships modules, which are considered desirable by a large number of UK employers. Additionally, At Level 5 you will undertake a mandatory work related learning module. At Level 6 you will study two specialisation electives, with problem-based and research-led learning approaches. You will learn to process and analyse both structured and unstructured data and/or information, act as an effective team member and engage in ethical and sustainable decision-making processes.
