Standard Qualification Requirements

To include French, German or Spanish with B or 6 in GCSE Mathematics. Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and is not studying an A Level in a language then B or 6 in a language at GCSE is required.

Including French, German or Spanish. Combinations of Highers and Advanced Highers accepted. Mathematics required at National 5, minimum grade B (or grade 2 Standard Grade or Intermediate 2 equivalent). Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and does not have a language at Higher Grade, then National 5, minimum grade B (or grade 2 Standard Grade or Intermediate 2 equivalent) is required in a language. Scottish qualifications can be taken in more than one sitting.

A minimum of 30 level 3 credits at Distinction and 15 level 3 credits at Merit is required. Evidence of study in the relevant languages to the required level is also required. GCSE Maths grade C or 4 or Pass in level 2 maths in Access Diploma is also required.

We welcome applications from students offering an Extended Project and value the skills of research and independent learning that it is designed to develop. If you offer an Extended Project, it will be taken into account as part of your application profile, but we will not usually include it in offer conditions for this degree programme.

Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and does not have a language at IB Higher Level then Grade 5 in a language at IB Standard Level is required.

Applicants offering a BTEC National Diploma will be considered on an individual basis.
