The Mechanical Engineering Topup builds on the students’ knowledge gained at HND level, applying principles of static and dynamic analysis, to the study of mechanical properties of solids and different types of mechanical mechanisms . Students’ theoretical knowledge of fluids is complemented by the course in Computational Fluid Dynamics, in which students learn how to simulate different single and multi-phase fluid flows, using industry-standard software. The mathematical tools for solving a range of engineering problems is developed in Computer Simulation and Modelling, and the students’ knowledge is applied to a practical context in a Degree Project which lasts the autumn and spring terms. The course can be taken Full-Time, over a single year (120 credits) or Part-Time, over two years (60 credits per year)
