Course Summary

This course will enable you to develop 2D and 3D digital skills for concept art, character animation and interface design. The HND will enable you to work with greater independence and autonomy. The Professional Practice and a knowledge of the industry will be a key feature of the HND. The course is supported by a series of technical and creative workshops. There is an opportunity to for optional cultural visits abroad to destinations such as Berlin and Amsterdam. You will work in a purpose built studio equipped with industry software tools including Adobe Animate Adobe Photoshop Autodesk Maya Maxob Cinema 4D Unity Unreal 4 On completion of the HND you can move directly into employment within the 3D modelling or animation industry, or alternatively top-up your qualification to a full Bachelor's degree with further study at university.

Standard Qualification Requirements


To begin this course you will need a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, or a National Diploma in an Art & Design subject, or an equivalent Level 3 qualification, or relevant professional experience. You will need to have successfully completed the HNC. Applicants from A-Level programmes displaying high levels of creativity will also be considered, as will mature students, who will be considered individually on experience rather than qualifications. Entry will also be subject to a successful interview, where you will be asked to present a portfolio of your creative work, including sketchbooks.
