If you have an interest in front-line non-clinical public health services, then this course is for you. Whilst studying you will gain critical and theoretical knowledge of current issues within the public health arena, both in a UK and global context. The course allows you to specialise in your own area(s) of interest from the beginning, whilst achieving a core base of essential understanding. Key subject areas include ageing, mental health, sexual health, epidemiology, health promotion strategies, global health, global epidemics and many more. You will engage in live projects with employers from across the health sector and collaborate with fellow students to meet challenging briefs. In addition, you will benefit from guest lectures from local employers, charities and professionals to expand your knowledge of modern public health. This course will open up a range of opportunities to embark upon a career within the public health arena with organisations such as the NHS, Public Health England, think tanks and health-focused not for profit organisations. Academic progression is available through appropriate Masters degrees.
