Course Summary

This course has been designed in collaboration with local employers and is ideally suited to those who wish to pursue an academic or professional career in computing. This course gives you the opportunity to choose from a range of optional modules allowing you to specialise in the area of computing that most interests you. During the course you will develop research skills and knowledge in relation to current issues in the ICT industry. Throughout the course you will be encouraged to undertake work placements and manage live projects from industry, giving you valuable work experience to help you secure employment upon graduation. Graduates go on to careers as programmers, systems analysts, software engineers, database administrators and network managers. Academic progression is also available via a relevant Masters programme.

Collaborative Development, Dissertation or Project, Research Methods and Data Analysis. Optional modules (choose from): Advanced Mobile Development, Forensic Investigation, Management of Change, Mobile Games Design, Secure Network Architecture and Design, Systems Development.

You will learn through a variety of teaching and learning methods including written practical assignments, a work-based project, presentations, peer work and independent study. Assessment is carried out through in-course technical reports, presentations, case-studies, peer assessment, practical based assignments, projects and time-constrained assessments in addition to your dissertation or project.
