This programme is designed for those who already work or volunteer in a teaching and learning supportive role in any educational setting. The programme will extend and progress your knowledge and understanding of the needs and characteristics of learners to enable you to support and develop inclusive environments. The course aims to develop innovative ways of enhancing the skills of teaching and learning support staff to reflect current practice in schools and the needs of the employer as well as link theory to create effective practitioners.

Applicants will need to have one of the following: • A relevant Level 3 qualification plus a minimum of 30 days relevant work experience • Two years relevant work experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient ability and/ or experience to benefit from the course You will also need one of the following: • GCSE grade C/4 in English or an equivalent Level 2 qualification. Functional Skills Level 2 English is not an acceptable equivalent • Paid or voluntary work in an education setting for the equivalent of at least 80 days spread evenly throughout the course. It is strongly advised that those who do not have Maths at GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent gain this to support them on the course. Those intending to progress to Primary QTS will need Maths and Science GCSE at grade C/ 4 or above.
