Course Summary

The HND Performing Arts (Acting) programme is designed to prepare you for a career as a professional actor. It provides a practical, vocational education and encourages intellectual and personal growth through a programme of study. You will develop reflective processes and analytical skills, and enrich your individual creativity and imagination. There is a strong emphasis on independent learning, self-management and communication skills. The rigour encapsulated in the programme prepares you for the profession or the possibility of further study at a higher educational level. Leading on from the skills developed on the HNC (first year), in the second year of the course (HND) you will develop and refine your acting technique further, exploring genres and applying acting methodologies to monologues and scene-work. The year culminates in a directed full-length production at the end of the year. Voice classes run through-out the year, supporting your technical and creative application to project work. Morley College London’s roots in the world of the Performing arts date back to our origins at the Old Vic Theatre. It's a heritage we honour to this day, with the various beautiful performance and rehearsal spaces at our main building and our team of tutors with professional experience in the field. With our HNC programme in the performing arts, you'll benefit from our history and expertise as you develop your performance skills and improve your career prospects.
