Course Summary

Strength and conditioning coaches strive to improve the fitness of their clients, individuals and/or teams of athletes. However, unlike personal trainers and other fitness professionals, strength and conditioning coaches focus upon improving skill, technique and athletic performance. This programme helps to expand your knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of strength and conditioning. The programme is also mapped to the UKSCA ASCC guidelines and assessment methods, with the intention of preparing you to complete your assessments and gain UKSCA ASCC status, the gold standard of the industry. The programme also embeds the essential knowledge and expertise required to complete generic fitness qualifications, namely Level 2 Fitness Instruction and Level 3 Personal training, to expand your and improve employment opportunities. You are then able to complete the external examinations to obtain these qualifications. Successful students may choose to progress to the BSc (Honours) Strength & Conditioning, a one year top-up programme also delivered at the College, to gain a full honours degree award.
