Course Summary

Electrical and electronic engineers play an important role in not only ensuring devices are safe to use now, but also on the forefront of developing new technologies for the future. Our modules mirror the real-life practical applications of this knowledge such as control engineering, medical applications and telecommunications. You’ll also have the opportunity to specialise in specific pathways of electronic and computer systems engineering, and electrical power engineering. You’ll graduate with the specialist skills and a knowledge base that will set you up for success in an electrical engineering career. If you didn’t follow the traditional route of Science and Maths A Levels, you can still find your way into the engineering professions. Whether you’re a mature student needing a degree to progress your career, someone from a non-engineering background looking to change direction, or a school leaver without the grades for Level 4, this programme is for you! The Extended Degree in Engineering is the first part of an integrated 4/5 years programme, and prepares you with the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake a degree-level engineering course.
