Year 1 modules include: Introduction to Criminological Theory Introduction to the Criminal Justice System Researching Crime and Deviance Personal and Social Factors Affecting Young People Introduction to Professional Practice Year 2 modules include: Professional Youth Justice Practice 1 Youth, Resistance and Social Control Safeguarding Children Crime, Media and Technology Violence Supporting Children with the Youth Justice System Year 3 modules include: Criminological Research Practice Professional Youth Justice Practice 2 Crime Control and Penology Social Control, Drugs and Organised Crime

Course Details – Assessment Method

Assessments will be a combination of coursework, presentations, portfolios and explorative, critical thinking projects. Many of the assessments will be related to real work challenges and you'll have some choice in the areas studied in accordance to your interests and career aspirations. Detailed guidance and support is given for all assessments and you'll have opportunities to submit draft work or plans for individual feedback and tutorials. All work placement learning is assessed via a professional assessment document, approved by the Youth Justice Board and signed off by placement supervisors.
