Course Summary

**Why study this course?** Our Interior Architecture and Design (with preparatory semester) BA (Hons) degree is the ideal choice if you need some introductory study before undertaking an undergraduate degree but don’t need to complete a full foundation year. Unlike a foundation year, which is designed to let you explore a wide range of subjects, this course will focus on providing you with skills specific to the study of interior architecture and design. You’ll graduate with the same award and title as students on the standard interior and architecture design course. On this three-year course you’ll be immersed in this distinct and rigorous practice that involves thinking about how interior elements and spaces are inhabited by people. **More about this course** Our Interior Architecture and Design (with preparatory semester) BA (Hons) course will equip you with the skills necessary to begin a career in the interior design industry. You’ll develop specialist skills in observational and spatial drawing, model making, digital drawing and material investigations. You’ll also learn how to research, analyse and articulate your design proposals and their cultural context. The preparatory semester will focus on developing your fundamentals skills in drawing, modelling, IT platforms and visual communication. This will ensure that you are prepared and confident to begin more rigorous study at undergraduate level. Following the preparatory semester you’ll join students starting on the standard interior architecture and design course in January. To find out more about the course content beyond the foundation year, please visit our Interior Design and Architecture BA (Hons) course page on UCAS.
