Course Details – Assessment Method

Assessment varies depending on the modules you choose, but will usually include a combination of exams and coursework. The Marketing team understands that each student is different, and will perform differently depending on how they are assessed. This is why we use a range of assessment methods for each module. They include: •group presentations •exams (seen and unseen) •online multiple-choice exams •IT-based assessment (website design, Microsoft Office work) •written work (essays, literature reviews, reports) •practical assessments (mock interviews and CVs) You will receive plenty of personal support for assessments from your tutors, and from written guidelines, revision sessions and study support classes. Your tutors will give you one-to-one feedback on assessments within three weeks, giving you a chance to discuss your strengths as well as the areas that may need further attention.

​We are looking for students with the potential to:Understand and critically evaluate the theory, concepts and principles that underpin the practical techniques of marketing and business. Demonstrate their understanding by communicating effectively, both orally and in their written work. Possess the self-discipline to manage their time and tasks effectively throughout their time here at LJMU. ​Applications are welcomed from mature and non-standard applicants, who will be considered on an individual basis. These applicants may be required to submit an essay and/or attend an interview, and should demonstrate potential and motivation and/or have relevant experience.
