In addition, you'll have the opportunity to grow as a creative thinker, and develop your skillset and understanding of the wider global environment that supports the digital expansion of brands today. **More about the Professional Placement Year** A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers & Employability Team.

Course Details - Modules

Year one You'll be introduced to the broader business and cultural environments that link and inform the fashion industry. You'll start to develop your digital skillset and understanding, and explore how fashion brands communicate. Year two To accompany the core fashion modules, you'll have the opportunity to choose four modules that support your own career goals, allowing you to focus on media creation, business management, fashion in context, or a mix of all three. In the second semester, you'll have the opportunity to connect with and explore the brand of your choice, giving you an insight into how a business functions, and allowing you to develop your understanding of an employer's needs. Year three Professional placement year Year four Your final year allows you to focus on projects that support exploration and development relating to the sector of the fashion industry that you would most like to work in.

You'll be assessed through a variety of projects, exams, presentations, and reflective pieces. You'll be taught through weekly lectures, seminars, and workshops. Group projects, independent research, open discussion, guided readings, guest speakers, live projects, and individual submissions will enhance your learning.

Standard Qualification Requirements

Grade C in Business or related subject preferred. All applicants will need to demonstrate in their personal statement their fascination with the fashion industry. Those without a Business Studies A Level can apply, but will also need to show a strong interest in business in their personal statement.

Grade Merit is preferred.

Access to HE courses - typical offers for applicants with Access to HE will be the Access to HE Diploma or Access to HE certificate (60 credits, 45 of which must be level 3, including 30 at Merit or higher). Any selection procedure/further requirements will also apply.

International Baccalaureate - a minimum of 27 points are required, in addition to evidence of a strong interest in business in your personal statement.
