Social Policy and Sociology at Lincoln draws on a range of social science disciplines to offer an insight into the diverse and different social groups and structures that make up society. At the forefront of contemporary social debates, this combined degree course of Social Policy and Sociology aims to analyse and critique the different social constructions of everyday social life. It allows students the opportunity to engage with key debates about social problems and welfare, alongside the study of sociological theory and research methods. These offer valuable experience of a professional social policy environment and provide the chance to observe how policy is set by central government and executed by local authorities, including how competing priorities can result in different decisions about where to allocate resources. Please note that students are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and general living expenses while undertaking a placement.
