The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers and Employability Team.

Year 1 will give you a broad understanding of today’s business environment, from organisational operation to the importance of data in business. You’ll cover topics such as Organisations and the Business Environment; Economics and Globalisation; and Managing Data. Year 2 will take your knowledge and skills forward to focus on the inner workings of businesses, developing the skills that employers look for. You will also learn to form opinions on how businesses manage challenges, you’ll work on projects and use business techniques to solve problems. Year 3 will see you undertake an in-depth business research project in your specialist area, and give you the chance to plan a business by yourself or with your fellow students. You'll be assessed in a wide range of ways that test your business knowledge and management skills. These could include presentations, work related projects, group-work, computer based simulations, podcasts, examis, essays, videos and business reports.
