Course Summary

The BA (Hons) Business and Finance degree at Lincoln aims to equip students with the tools and knowledge to operate in a range of business environments, and to develop a broad understanding of business and finance from an international perspective. The programme introduces business and finance theory including the importance of data analysis, legal knowledge, marketing and operations. Modules are designed to enable students to develop the ability to apply learning to practical situations.

Course Details - Modules

The first year introduces key elements of business, including contemporary business analysis, business law, marketing and organisational behaviour, in addition to accountancy and finance. The second year builds on this foundation with business and economics modules in addition to specialist options. In the final year, students have the opportunity to examine financial management at an advanced level and can tailor their degree by selecting from a range of optionals aligned to individual interested and career ambitions. In addition, there is the opportunity to take a year-long work placement (Professional Practice) after the second year. A work placement can allow students to gain valuable experience and apply their learning in practice. For the most up to date module information, please visit the course page for this programme on our website. Some programmes provide you with the opportunity to focus your study in a particular area through optional modules. Timetabling arrangements may limit the availability of some optional modules to some students. As the options often reflect staff research interests, they may alter over time due to staff availability.
