BA (Hons) Business and Management (International Business) at Bath Spa University is an innovative and creative course offering specialism in International Business. You’ll develop the subject knowledge and core skills needed to excel in all kinds of businesses. You’ll experience exceptional learning environments, supported by academic staff with subject expertise who will assist you along the way. - Develop as a person to achieve your potential through learning about international business theories and practices. - Have the flexibility to choose modules that you’re interested in. - Bring in modules from areas outside of your course, such as Sustainability or Marketing. **More about the Professional Placement Year** A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers & Employability Team.

Course Details - Modules

Year 1 will give you a broad understanding of today’s business environment, from organisational operation, to trends in economic thinking, to the importance of data in business. You’ll cover topics such as Organisations and the Business Environment; Economics and Globalisation; and Managing Data. In Year 2 you’ll take your skills forward and focus on the inner workings of businesses, developing the skills that employers look. During this year you’ll also have the chance to plan a simulated business by yourself or with fellow students in the pathway module. You will also learn to form opinions on how businesses manage challenges, you’ll work on projects and use business techniques to solve problems. Finally, Year 3 will see you undertake an in-depth business research project in International Business, and explore the knowledge and obtain the skills in cross-cultural management by taking the pathway module.
