You’ll graduate ready to take on enhanced roles in the workplace, such as positions in management. – You’ll be able to continue in employment while studying and effectively apply theory to practice. **About this course** Do you work in sports, physical education and active health? This course can benefit your career as it gives you the chance to study while remaining in employment. You’ll be able to top-up your existing qualification to a BA (Hons) degree. This is ideal if you want to work in roles that normally require a degree, such as teaching. The course combines work-based learning with attendance at university for one evening per week. You’ll have full-time student status. The year-long course focuses mainly on the contexts in which physical education, sport and activity (PESA) operate. You’ll learn from demographic groups who have historically not benefitted from PESA. You’ll explore how inclusive practices can now meet the diverse needs of all young people.

Course Details - Modules

The modules you will study are listed below. 1. Leading and Managing Change – Capstone Project 2. PESA Enterprise and Business 3. School, Youth and Community Sport 4. International Perspectives All modules relate to inclusive, developmental practice. You will learn to mentor and coach other practitioners and how to operate effectively in the commercial world. You will also develop your understanding of the structures, compliance and strategies in youth sport and how PESA is approached in different countries. All modules have 4 hours contact time per week. Support is available outside of these contact hours over the course of each week. This includes online video call drop-in sessions.

Assessment is 100% coursework based and typically comprises practical study (eg. presentations & performance) and coursework (eg essays, reports, self-assessment, portfolios & a dissertation).
